This training will provide your staff with the tools, skills and self-efficacy to integrate Brief Interventions for Tobacco Use in Individuals with Mental Illness agency-wide. In addition to Brief Interventions, the tutorial includes strategies for developing buy-in among mental health staff and agency goals for talking about tobacco. The tutorial will also provide participants with a working knowledge of all first line tobacco treatment medications currently on the market.
At the end of this training participants will be able to:
- Engage all the stakeholders of your agency through staff training and the “Getting Started” toolkit.
- Provide brief interventions to all smokers in the mental health setting.
- Facilitate and support the use of tobacco treatment medications.
- Utilize strategies for developing agency readiness and increasing buy-in.
